The Forgotten Post

Workout: None

I realized I never wrote the post about our drive home from IL over Christmas break....Oh my gosh!! Can you say disaster? I guess it wasn't really the drive that was bad but our night at the hotel. We stopped for the night somewhere is GA, and we arrived at our hotel around 6 pm. We grabbed some food and spent the night watching t.v. Around 9 we decided to turn the lights out. As soon as we put Orlando down he screamed and screamed. We got him up and cuddled with him for a few minutes, and then we put him back in the pack-n-play. This process happened three times. The fourth time we let him scream. And scream he did for about 20 minutes. After a LOT of screaming, cuddling, watching Blue's Clues, and bottles, he finally fell asleep at 11. But sleep didn't last long. At 3:30 Orlando wakes up crying, by 3:35 Lyla is up perky as can be. And by 4 we are on the road driving the rest of the way to FL.

This photo was taken at 4:15 a.m.!!!!! She was WIDE awake laughing hysterically at Cars, I think. Road trips are so much more fun with small children. :)

Workout: 8 miles/1:25:02 It takes 9 months to put the weight on, and it took 9 months and 6 days to get the weight off. FINALLY!!!!!! I am at my pre-Orlando weight. I gained 40 whopping pounds during my second pregnancy, and I am ecstatic to say that I have now lost 41. I worked extremely hard to get that darn baby weight off, and there were several times I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. Thankfully, my determination won in the end. I have expressed before on my blog that I am not a healthy eater. Junk food is my good friend, and fruits and veggies are evil gross!! (Okay, not ALL fruits, but pretty much ALL veggies are evil.) So how did I do it? I cut out a lot of carbs. Not completely, but I closely monitored my carb intake. Setting Goals

I'm always setting goals for myself. Running goals, nutritional goals, cleaning goals, etc. (That last one is always a challenge.) I set goals so I have something to work towards; an everyday challenge to conquer. A couple of weeks ago I thought about what type of new goals I wanted to make. I started by thinking of a running goal. I needed something that would be challenging, yet achievable. I decided I would challenge myself by trying to run at least 20 miles a week. Next, I wanted to set some nutritional goals. Anyone close to me knows that I eat like crap. Total crap! In fact, I honestly can not remember the last time I had a piece of fruit. I have just a few more pounds of baby weight to lose and I know eating better would definitely get it off. So I set a goal to make wiser food choices and cut back on my snacking. A little mommy rant!

Workout: HIIT download/2mile run Okay moms, I hate being bombarded in every parent's magazine and internet article about all these super star moms. You know, the moms that feed their kids organic food, only let their children play educational games, and make their two year old do service projects. You can judge and put your nose up in the air about me, but that is totally okay, because I judge you, too!!! Seriously, I want to throw my greasy hamburger in their face and tell them to shove it. My kids are awesome, healthy, happy, and enjoy life. And I enjoy the things I do being their mom. It is totally okay to: 1. let my kids eat McDonald's french fries. 2. let my children watch cartoons....right smack dab in front of the t.v. 3. Allow them to drink a late night polar pop!!
