Screw It!!

Workout:  None

I had a really great motto this summer for staying fit and healthy.  It was called, Screw It!  I really don't know where the laziness came from because that really isn't like me, but I just had zero motivation to do anything.  I have my alarm set for 5:15, but most mornings went something like this:

The Total Screw:  Screw It!! I'm sleeping.  I never get sleep, and right now I would rather sleep than drag my feet around this town!

The Partial Screw:  Screw It!!   I don't feel like running 4 miles.  I will run 2 and consider it a success.

The Compromise Screw:  Screw It!!  I reeeeeeally don't want to run so I will just go for a nice bike ride instead.  I mean some exercise is better than nothing.

The huge negative effect to this awesome attitude is that the scale has creeped up 3 pounds since June.  OUCH!!!  The number staring at my face last weekend  was enough to help change my attitude.  My new goal is to run 4 days a week and strength train 2 days.  Absolutely NO screw its!!!

P90X for my strength days....which I actually enjoyed doing.  Kinda fun and different.  Week 1 of my new attitude has been a success, so here's to hoping it continues!

Summer Races

Workout:  3 miles easy - 100% humidity and dew point of 76!!  UGH!! Since fall is here in just a few days I thought I should throw my summer races up on the blog while it is still officially summer!!;) I was pumped about my summer races.  I had a good workout plan in my mind, and I was going to break 23 minutes!!  I was so determined!  Well, I thought I was so determined.  But, I guess I wasn't that  determined because things fell apart pretty quick.  There was vacation, and then our cruise, and then traveling up to Illinois.  And although I could have run during all these events, well,  I didn't.  OOPS!! Fisher Fair 5k I ran this race with my brother, and this was his first race in 20 years!!  It was really cool to run it with him, and to see him get back into running.  I actually only ran "with him" for about 7 steps, and then he took off. Mile 1 -7:34  Yeah, way too fast.  I'm actually pretty good a...

A little mommy rant!

Workout: HIIT download/2mile run Okay moms, I hate being bombarded in every parent's magazine and internet article about all these super star moms.  You know, the moms  that feed their kids organic food, only let their children play educational games, and make their two year old do service projects. You can judge and put your nose up in the air about me, but that is totally okay, because I judge you, too!!!   Seriously, I want to throw my greasy hamburger in their face and tell them to shove it.  My kids are awesome, healthy, happy, and enjoy life.  And I enjoy the things I do being their mom.  It is totally okay to: 1.   let my kids eat McDonald's french fries.  2.   let my children watch cartoons....right smack dab in front of the t.v.  3.  Allow them to drink  a late night polar pop!!  I believe this is Dr. Pepper. 4.  iPad games instead of story time at bed!! I don't care that these things...

Harbour Heights 5K review

Workout:  Shredding (cardio and weights) from Lindsay Brin -  Moms Into Fitness YAY!!!  I finally ran a race in 2015.  As much as I wasn't feeling it I knew I needed to get my butt out there and race once again.  I kept trying to creep my way out of the race - I don't have time, I'm not in shape, etc., but my husband was very insistent that I run.  I appreciate him for that! Pre Race Oh my word!  It was awful.  Orlando cried the entire time we were in the car because he wanted to go back to bed.  Listening to crying for 35 minutes first thing in the morning is torture!  Then, when we got to the race the parking lot was 1.4 miles away from the park!!  With 2 small children that is....well, not ideal.  They had 1 shuttle going back and forth, and the line to that was a mile long.  I still had to pick up my race packet and knew there was no way I would make it in time!  Thankfully, we had the stroller in the trunk ...
