Finding Motivation

Every person that works out needs motivation now and again.  My husband thinks it's amazing how dedicated I am to my workout routine, but a lot of the time it is REALLY hard for me to get my butt out the door.  Finding motivation is key on days that I am dreading my workout.  I workout early in the morning so at night while laying in bed I will search the internet for articles, blogs, or videos to help get me in the right mindset for my run.  A few years ago my favorite motivator was the "See Lance Ride" Nike commercial.   I would watch it 2-3 times before going to bed, and I swear, sometimes I wanted to lace up my shoes right then and there and go for a run.  For the past week I have received my motivation from a rather different source:  Elizabeth Hasselbeck.  Weird, I know.  I heard from my sister that they showed one of her workout routines on The View and it was crazy hard.  I had to check it out for myself so later that day I googled it.  It was awesome!!!  I've been trying to do strength training twice a week, and last week was the first week I stuck to that schedule thanks to the video.  I've watched it about 5 times, and have started doing some of the exercises when I go to the gym.  I love it!!  Any mom trying to get toned back up needs to watch.  Go here and check it out!!

And here is a picture for all my family fans that like to see my kiddos!
This is just before church on Sunday.  :)

Workout:  8 miles/1:25:02 It takes 9 months to put the weight on, and it took 9 months and 6 days to get the weight off.  FINALLY!!!!!!  I am at my pre-Orlando weight.  I gained 40 whopping pounds during my second pregnancy, and I am ecstatic to say that I have now lost 41.  I worked extremely hard to get that darn baby weight off, and there were several times I didn't think I was going to be able to do it.  Thankfully, my determination won in the end.  I have expressed before on my blog that I am not a healthy eater.  Junk food is my good friend, and fruits and veggies are evil gross!! (Okay, not ALL fruits, but pretty much ALL veggies are evil.) So how did I do it?  I cut out a lot of carbs.  Not completely, but I closely monitored my carb intake.  I limited my Coke and McDonald's Sweet Tea splurges and tried to drink these sugary beverages only on weekends.  I discovered Crystal Light Pink Lemonade which I drink during th...

Setting Goals

I'm always setting goals for myself.  Running goals, nutritional goals, cleaning goals, etc. (That last one is always a challenge.)  I set goals so I have something to work towards; an everyday challenge to conquer.  A couple of weeks ago I thought about what type of new goals I wanted to make.  I started by thinking of a running goal.  I needed something that would be challenging, yet achievable.  I decided I would challenge myself by trying to run at least 20 miles a week. Next, I wanted to set some nutritional goals.  Anyone close to me knows that I eat like crap.  Total crap!  In fact, I honestly can not remember the last time I had a piece of fruit.  I have just a few more pounds of baby weight to lose and I know eating better would definitely get it off.  So I set a goal to make wiser food choices and cut back on my snacking.  But late in the week I discovered a couple things about my goals. The first is, don't make ru...

A little mommy rant!

Workout: HIIT download/2mile run Okay moms, I hate being bombarded in every parent's magazine and internet article about all these super star moms.  You know, the moms  that feed their kids organic food, only let their children play educational games, and make their two year old do service projects. You can judge and put your nose up in the air about me, but that is totally okay, because I judge you, too!!!   Seriously, I want to throw my greasy hamburger in their face and tell them to shove it.  My kids are awesome, healthy, happy, and enjoy life.  And I enjoy the things I do being their mom.  It is totally okay to: 1.   let my kids eat McDonald's french fries.  2.   let my children watch cartoons....right smack dab in front of the t.v.  3.  Allow them to drink  a late night polar pop!!  I believe this is Dr. Pepper. 4.  iPad games instead of story time at bed!! I don't care that these things...
