It's that time of year. Race season has begun! I would like to run a race every month from April to December. Right now I am in full training mode for a race I will be running at the end of April, the Illinois 10k. It's fun knowing that all these miles I'm pounding out are actually important and not just so I can eat junk. But, it also sucks because now I have to do speed work!! This week I did 5x800 at a 7:00 pace with 2 minutes rest in between. However, because I can't count, I did six!! Here I am doing a photo shoot during one of my rest periods :) I think this picture makes me look old. And by old, I mean I look my age :(
Workout: 8 miles/1:25:02 It takes 9 months to put the weight on, and it took 9 months and 6 days to get the weight off. FINALLY!!!!!! I am at my pre-Orlando weight. I gained 40 whopping pounds during my second pregnancy, and I am ecstatic to say that I have now lost 41. I worked extremely hard to get that darn baby weight off, and there were several times I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. Thankfully, my determination won in the end. I have expressed before on my blog that I am not a healthy eater. Junk food is my good friend, and fruits and veggies are evil gross!! (Okay, not ALL fruits, but pretty much ALL veggies are evil.) So how did I do it? I cut out a lot of carbs. Not completely, but I closely monitored my carb intake.
