Hoping the Ugly is Over

Workout: No clue! Working out tonight and not sure yet what I'm gonna do;)

Along with the majority of the state of IL I woke up yesterday to waaaay to much snow for the end of March. Do you ever wonder how something so pretty can be so UGLY?!! I was extremely annoyed, but knowing this is the last time I will have to run in temps in the teens, icy roads, and bitter wind was just enough to motivate my butt out the door.

I had to shovel a nice path just to get to the road. And thankfully, no one was out and about so I was able to run in the middle of the road. I knew this run would be extremely slow because of the conditions so I didn't run with a watch. Within 10 minutes of finishing I was SORE....man, it is hard to run in snow and ice!!

Post run icing with a hot hot cup of coffee. Ahhhh, so much better in my warm home on my cozy couch!! And if I see anymore beautiful snowflakes this spring I might just burst into tears!!

Workout: 8 miles/1:25:02 It takes 9 months to put the weight on, and it took 9 months and 6 days to get the weight off. FINALLY!!!!!! I am at my pre-Orlando weight. I gained 40 whopping pounds during my second pregnancy, and I am ecstatic to say that I have now lost 41. I worked extremely hard to get that darn baby weight off, and there were several times I didn't think I was going to be able to do it. Thankfully, my determination won in the end. I have expressed before on my blog that I am not a healthy eater. Junk food is my good friend, and fruits and veggies are evil gross!! (Okay, not ALL fruits, but pretty much ALL veggies are evil.) Setting Goals

I'm always setting goals for myself. Running goals, nutritional goals, cleaning goals, etc. (That last one is always a challenge.) I set goals so I have something to work towards; an everyday challenge to conquer. A couple of weeks ago I thought about what type of new goals I wanted to make. I started by thinking of a running goal. I needed something that would be challenging, yet achievable. I decided I would challenge myself by trying to run at least 20 miles a week. Next, I wanted to set some nutritional goals. Anyone close to me knows that I eat like crap. Total crap! In fact, I honestly can not remember the last time I had a piece of fruit. I have just a few more pounds of baby weight to lose and I know eating better would definitely get it off. So I set a goal to make wiser food choices and cut back on my snacking. A little mommy rant!

Workout: HIIT download/2mile run Okay moms, I hate being bombarded in every parent's magazine and internet article about all these super star moms. You know, the moms that feed their kids organic food, only let their children play educational games, and make their two year old do service projects. You can judge and put your nose up in the air about me, but that is totally okay, because I judge you, too!!! Seriously, I want to throw my greasy hamburger in their face and tell them to shove it. My kids are awesome, healthy, happy, and enjoy life. And I enjoy the things I do being their mom. It is totally okay to: 1. let my kids eat McDonald's french fries. 2. let my children watch cartoons....right smack dab in front of the t.v. 3. Allow them to drink a late night polar pop!!
