Things I LOVE!!

Workout:  Elliptical 50 min./abs/weights 1. Chips.  Every kind, but especially Doritos. 2. Coke.  Preferably from a can. 3. Hiking.  Which is why I fell in love with Colorado and Montana. 4. Being tan. (Where are you sun?) 5. The Harry Potter Series.  I've read each one at least 3-4 times. 6. My mom's mexican food.  YUM!! 7. Door County. 8. Fall.  And even better, Door County in the fall. 9. Chick flicks. 10. RUNNING!! On my honeymoon reading HP and the Half Blood Prince . *True love - Matt read the series just so he could talk about it with me :)

Cake Pops

Workout:  Elliptical 55 minutes/abs    Luke was working hard mixing the cake.  Lyla was working hard eating all the cake! Extremely messy!  I tried using a spoon to stir, but it just wasn't doing to the trick. The kids did a great job helping out with this part! The final product.  Yum! My two cents on homemade cake pops: Extremely hard, time consuming, and MESSY.  They tasted awesome, but I won't be making them again.  Cupcakes are just as good and 10 times easier.

Kick Him in the Face REAL Hard!

Now, remember, this made the list of top 10 things I hate.  And wouldn't you know I now have to do a lot of it.  After weeks of insane knee pain I finally made an appointment to see a sports medicine doctor over at the Sports Enhancement Center.  Turns out I have severe tendonitis in my knee, being caused by my hamstring, due to lack of flexibility.  The doctor told me to quit running completely for a month, and he told me I was overweight.  (LOOOONG story about that.  Maybe I'll have a post on it sometime.)  I then proceeded to cry which caused a very awkward moment (more so for him than me...you should have seen the look on his face).  So three days after my post about hating stretching and cross training it's thrown right in my face.  I am stretching everyday and doing the elliptical for an hour every morning.  I have a race next weekend that I'm running even though the doctor said not to.  Going against the doctor's orders is my form of being rebellious!  I'

Things I Hate

Workout:  Elliptical/Weights 1.  Cross training.  I made it 14 minutes on the elliptical machine before I said "screw it"! 2.  Generic cereal.  I refuse to buy it. 3.  Diet pop.  DISGUSTING!! 4.  Rainy days.  And even worse are cold rainy days. 5.  Traffic.  One of the many reasons we left the city! 6.  Americans with no patriotic spirit. 7.  Listening to people bash George W. 8.  Stretching.  That is almost as awful as cross training. 9.  Running outside in January. 10.  Slow people that start near the front of the line at a race.  You have no business being there.  Get out of my way you 10 minute miler!!! I HATE STRETCHING!

Sometimes You Just Have to Laugh

Workout:  4 miles/32:34 I've been meaning to repaint the stripe in Orlando's room since Christmas.  It was green, but that would have looked awful with the picture we ordered for Christmas.  The sunny skies gave me motivation to just get this project done once and for all, and the end result is perfect! Okay, I lied.   Thi s view is perfect.  The actual end result left me wide eyed and open mouthed for about 30 seconds.  After leaving the room to let the paint dry someone decided to give the room a little more color. Yes.  That would be four different spots that have been painted.  Just when I got one project checked off my to-do list another gets put on.  Oh Lyla, you are something else!

- 41

Workout:  8 miles/1:25:02 It takes 9 months to put the weight on, and it took 9 months and 6 days to get the weight off.  FINALLY!!!!!!  I am at my pre-Orlando weight.  I gained 40 whopping pounds during my second pregnancy, and I am ecstatic to say that I have now lost 41.  I worked extremely hard to get that darn baby weight off, and there were several times I didn't think I was going to be able to do it.  Thankfully, my determination won in the end.  I have expressed before on my blog that I am not a healthy eater.  Junk food is my good friend, and fruits and veggies are evil gross!! (Okay, not ALL fruits, but pretty much ALL veggies are evil.) So how did I do it?  I cut out a lot of carbs.  Not completely, but I closely monitored my carb intake.  I limited my Coke and McDonald's Sweet Tea splurges and tried to drink these sugary beverages only on weekends.  I discovered Crystal Light Pink Lemonade which I drink during the week instead.  I stopped buying chips....complete

Two Things Tuesday

Workout:  5 miles/42:59 1.  I LOVE living in a small town.  I love that I can run anywhere and not worry about traffic.  I love that no matter where I am I'm not too far from home so if I need to use the restroom or if I just feel like crap, home isn't too far away.  I love that I feel safe on my runs. 2.  I HATE living in a small town.   I hate that there is never variety to my runs.  I hate that to run more than 5 miles I have to go up and down every freakin' street.  I hate that I never see another soul out and about.  I hate how windy it always is being out in the middle of nowhere. The desolate empty streets of home!  This was on my run at 5:30 in the evening.  I could do cartwheels down the middle of the road and no one would even know :)

Life as a Stay-at-Home Mom

A quick look at the life of a stay-at-home mom.                                                                         Feeding. Bathing. Teaching. Cleaning. And cleaning. And cleaning. Coffee breaks!! Yes, I let Lyla drink coffee with me. **Just want to say for those of you that pay attention to my mileage counter....low mileage this week due to being sick :(
