I am a Mom!!

Workout: None  Rejuvenation always comes when you need it most.  After a few crappy mom days I was ready to get out of the house and listen to a marvelous speaker.  A speaker I KNEW would give me just the encouragement I needed to keep going.  The speaker was Jill Savage.   Jill is a wife, mother, grandmother, and the founder and director of  Hearts at Home .  She is the author of more than seven books, and she has a new book,  No More Perfect Moms,  being released in February.  When I found out she was coming to speak at our local MOPS groups I was so excited!!  Here are my notes from the mornings message: Professionalizing Motherhood - A workshop with Jill Savage 1.   Motherhood is a profession.      -When people ask what you do don't say "I'm just a mom".  Omit that word JUST!!      -Approach motherhood as a job.  Set goals, make plans, make lists, and use a calendar as you would in any other profession!      -Get dressed!!!  (Ha, as I write this I am stil

Winter Running

Workout: 2 miles easy.  Pop Pilates: Total Body Workout I can't stand winter running.  Freezing temps, unbearable wind, icy roads.  And let's not forget the layers. Layers Layers Layers!!!  Oh, and my new Nike smart touch running gloves - LOVE!!  Running in 3 layers just plain stinks!   Once in a while my body will warm up and I will feel good, but lately I've been freezing the entire run!!  The last few days I've been trying to decide what my limit is temperature wise.  Rarely do I think it is too cold to run.  You just suck it up and go!  However, the other day my body refused to warm up causing my hamstrings to get super tight resulting in extremely sore muscles for the next 3 days.  So, I've decided to make a temperature cap.  The magic number is 15 .  Perhaps I'm becoming a wimp in my old age, but now that I think of it, this is the first year in a while I haven't had access to a treadmill.  So I've always had option B.  Now op

Beginning a Tradition

Workout:  Pop Pilates legs, butt, and abs.  3 miles easy. After hitting snooze twice I finally managed to drag my butt out of bed and get a good workout in.  I'm glad I did because early morning running is always the prettiest!! Yes, Christmas was weeks ago, but I still want to share:)  This year our little family spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at home.  Matt and I wanted to start some of our own traditions for the kids.  We talked for quite a few weeks about what we wanted to do since this is what we are going to do every single year FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!!! And our big grand plan was...... Dinner and then drive around and look at Christmas lights!  This may seem boring, but we didn't have just any dinner.  We had IHOP!!  Lyla thinks it is soooo cool to have breakfast for dinner.  And I have no clue why, but IHOP makes me think of Christmas.  Maybe because in The Santa Claus they eat at Denny's which is similar.  Our food was good, they kids wer

Changes!

Workout:  Pop Pilates - Good Time Abs Challenge, Want U Back Arms Challenge, Legs and Thighs workout.  2 miles easy on treadmill.                 Well friends, it was time for a change.  The time of planning my workouts around Orlando's feeding schedule have been over for quite some time.  The name just didn't fit anymore.  This will remain the EXACT same blog.  Just a new name and new look ready to go for the new year!:) 2013 RESOLUTION TIME!!!!! I only have one, and it is the same as last year.  Run more miles than I did in 2012.  And I'm off to a great start - HA! Yes. Two measly miles.  This run seriously took every ounce of energy, and I had to give myself mental pep talks the entire way through.  I will blame my lack of energy due to my lack of sleep.  And the fact that I was wearing sub zero outdoor running tights in a 70 degree room.  I thought I was going to die!!  I'm just happy I did something.  I told myself I would start the new year off right -
