Hoping the Ugly is Over

Workout:  No clue!  Working out tonight and not sure yet what I'm gonna do;) Along with the majority of the state of IL I woke up yesterday to waaaay to much snow for the end of March.  Do you ever wonder how something so pretty can be so UGLY?!!  I was extremely annoyed, but knowing this is the last time I will have to run in temps in the teens, icy roads, and bitter wind was just enough to motivate my butt out the door. I had to shovel a nice path just to get to the road.  And thankfully, no one was out and about so I was able to run in the middle of the road.  I knew this run would be extremely slow because of the conditions so I didn't run with a watch.  Within 10 minutes of finishing I was SORE....man, it is hard to run in snow and ice!! Post run icing with a hot hot cup of coffee.  Ahhhh, so much better in my warm home on my cozy couch!!  And if I see anymore beautiful snowflakes this spring I might just burst into tears!!

Finding Good Mascara

Workout:  3 mile tempo run, abs, and upper body endurance - I had to throw in the upper body endurance video (which is killer tough) because I'm making chocolate chip cookies today:)) I'm definitely not a beauty expert.  I'm your typical drug store shopper when it comes to hair and make-up supplies.  And I get my hair cut at the mall.  Which according to some is totally ghetto!!  I'm a stay at home mom so I obviously don't need to look glamorous, but  I still want to look cute.  And thankfully, you can make yoga pants and a t-shirt look super cute!! And as far as make-up goes, the one must have product I need to look cute is mascara!  Most days it is all I put on.  It's easy, it's quick, and it does amazing things to the eyes!  And, it makes me feel prettier.  However, finding a good mascara is so dang hard!!!  I thought maybe I wasn't finding good mascara because I was buying drug store brands.   I then decided to do mega research one night on

Off to TN!

Workout:  3 miles, upper body endurance President's Day Weekend, the family; the ENITRE family (-Todd) took a super sweet trip! So a big shout out goes to by brother and S-I-L, Nathaniel and Bekah.  They planned this whole trip for their family.  This was their family vacation for the year.  Then, my bro calls everyone and says, "We've got this gigantoid cabin that sleeps a gazillion so come on up!!"  How can you say no to family time in the smokey mountains in a GORGEOUS cabin??    Amazing, right?!! Well, we didn't really get to enjoy the outdoor seating.  But, we did enjoy the views, the pool table, and the kids enjoyed some video games...although, Grant looks super bored in the picture:) We spent one afternoon in Gatlinburg, and the town was hoppin'!!  We forgot to bring our stroller which made things a little tough.  I suppose it was more like A LOT tough. I got forced into the hot tub - I know, I know, I didn't feel like ge

What's Loaded on the iPod?

Workout:  3 mile tempo Matt and I got a 2 month membership to the local "fitness center".  It is just the high school fitness center, but they open it to the public in the morning and evening.  So I head over the other evening to jump on the treadmill, begin digging in my pockets, and I can't find my iPod!!  And this is what happens.  I panic.  I don't know if I can do this.  I really don't know if I can run on this machine without any music.  Okay, I can do this.  I will just think about things - life, to-do lists, races I want to run.  I made it .3 miles.  And those .3 miles were torture!!!  Oh my gosh!  How do people run without music? Here are some of the new tunes that get me going and make running fun! 1.   Nicki Minaj - Va Va Voom - And can I just say I think she is a better judge than Mariah Carey! 2.   Justin Bieber - Beauty and a Beat - You have to admit, this kid makes great workout songs! 3.   Maroon 5 - Daylight - Love this one for my warm
