Our Day at Disney

Workout: 3 Miles/Speedwork - 5 days until my next race!! Living in FL has some perks.  MAJOR perks!!  There is continuous sunshine, warm weather, beaches, and then attractions galore.  Then, there are perks on top of the perks.  As FL residents we get some nice discounts to many attractions.  Por ejemplo, we just scored 3 day Disney passes for $99 pp!!  We were already planning on taking Lyla up to Magic Kingdom for a day so this offer was a no brainer.  (A one day ticket normally is $89.)  And, even better, you don't have to use the passes 3 consecutive days!  SO, last Saturday my sister watched Orlando for us and Matt and I got to take Lyla to Magic Kingdom! 1. First stop, meeting Mickey and Minnie.  And I am pretty sure Matt and I were more excited about this than Lyla. 2.  We spotted Peter Pan out walking around near Adventure Land.  I thought he was kinda weird, but then last night we watched the movie and I realized Peter Pan is arrogant and insensitive.  So that explai

A Day Off

Workout:  None...but I swear I am running tomorrow!! Matt had the day off  last Monday.  Since we live in FL and it is GORGEOUS we decided it would be the perfect time to explore the shops in Naples. Yes, I am the worst mother ever!!  Somehow my sweet little baby never makes any of the photos.  Anyway,  most of the shops were pricey, but there were a few that were affordable.  We visited the best cupcake shop EVER and I can't wait to go back!  YUM!!  The kids were really good, the day was perfect, and I am excited to go back without children!! Yes, I do have son.  I do take pictures of him.  And I love him to pieces!!  Sorry Orlando, you always seem to be left out :(

Family Christmas and Albaugh Christmas

Workout: None (I had every intention of running this evening, but then Matt surprised me with Doritos, Coke, and t.v. time while he took the kids for a walk!!) Christmas lasted a looooong time which was really fun; especially for the kids. Our first Christmas was just the 4 of us before we headed up to IL. The kids received all their gifts from mommy and daddy. Here are a few of their favorites. A few days later we headed up to IL.  Our first evening home we had our Albaugh family Christmas.  All the cousins draw names and have a gift exchange which is the highlight of the evening for them. Looking at these photos is making me miss all my nieces and nephew, dearly :(  I hope their parents are planning a trip down to FL soon!!

Naples Christmas

Workout: 2 mile tempo run It is mid January and I am just getting around to doing a post about Christmas...Eek!!  Sooooo, here goes round 1 of our Christmas adventures. Oh, that collage turned out nicely, if I do say so myself!! :)  Anyway, Lyla and I toured downtown Naples with Ang, Todd, Grace, and hundreds of other people over the age of 65.  It was really pretty, but I have to admit that it would have been nice to at least wear a sweater and have a nice hot peppermint mocha.  I mean I HATE the cold, but at Christmas the chill makes everything so perfect.  Although it didn't feel like Christmas it sure did look like Christmas, and Lyla loved it!!

Go To Tunes

Workout: 3 mile tempo: 25:27 Over the last 2 months I have slowly been adding some new jams to my iPod. (And may I just add that I totally love the word "jams" and have used it since forever to define the hot new song of the month :) )  Anyway, before November I hadn't bought a song since Justin Bieber's "Baby" was popular!!  So here are my "go to" jams that totally help me get through my runs: 1.  Good Feeling - Flo Rida 2.  Hello - Martin Solveig & Dragonette - Wish I could put the first 45 seconds on repeat!! 3. Take Me As I Am - FM Static 4. Wild Ones - Flo Rida - Could be my favorite jam right now :) 5.  I Wanna Go - Brittney Spears - Not really new, but still fun to run too! And my blog wouldn't be complete without a picture, right?  This is from a run over Christmas break up in Illinois.  My sister and I headed out for a run at 7:30 and it was 16 degrees!!  My legs hurt sooooo bad from the cold, but by mile 3 the pain went
