Now, remember, this made the list of top 10 things I hate. And wouldn't you know I now have to do a lot of it. After weeks of insane knee pain I finally made an appointment to see a sports medicine doctor over at the Sports Enhancement Center. Turns out I have severe tendonitis in my knee, being caused by my hamstring, due to lack of flexibility. The doctor told me to quit running completely for a month, and he told me I was overweight. (LOOOONG story about that. Maybe I'll have a post on it sometime.) I then proceeded to cry which caused a very awkward moment (more so for him than me...you should have seen the look on his face). So three days after my post about hating stretching and cross training it's thrown right in my face. I am stretching everyday and doing the elliptical for an hour every morning. I have a race next weekend that I'm running even though the doctor said not to. Going against the doctor's orders is my form of being rebellious! I'll keep you all posted on the cross training, and in the meantime, if any of you run into Dr. Duhig, kick him in the face for me. Tell him it's for calling me fat!!
Workout: HIIT download/2mile run Okay moms, I hate being bombarded in every parent's magazine and internet article about all these super star moms. You know, the moms that feed their kids organic food, only let their children play educational games, and make their two year old do service projects. You can judge and put your nose up in the air about me, but that is totally okay, because I judge you, too!!! Seriously, I want to throw my greasy hamburger in their face and tell them to shove it. My kids are awesome, healthy, happy, and enjoy life. And I enjoy the things I do being their mom. It is totally okay to: 1. let my kids eat McDonald's french fries. 2. let my children watch cartoons....right smack dab in front of the t.v. 3. Allow them to drink a late night polar pop!! I believe this is Dr. Pepper. 4. iPad games instead of story time at bed!! I don't care that these things...
I will definitely kick him in the face next time I see him. I can't imagine how that conversation went. Was he a resident physician?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hate stretching too. Remember those sprinting drills we did in high school? They are way better for flexibility than stretching. They are more fun. And you get to go fast! Try them twice a week once you can run again.
How do I know they are better? It's what cured me from plantar faciitis(foot pain caused by inflexibility). Every cross country season, I got it. Every track season, I was over it.
you need to call him and give him a piece of your mind!
ReplyDeleteAnyone who would even joke about you being fat is a complete and utter moron. He definitely does need to be set straight. Hmm...I think if I were in the position to do the kicking, I'd kick a little lower!
ReplyDeleteSeriously...if you're fat...who knows what the heck they'd call me!!! you're gorgeous...always have been, always will be:)
ReplyDeleteI am in shock the Dr. called you fat! Excuse me...but he sounds like a jerk! You are not fat!
ReplyDeleteSkinny and beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Hahahaha. You're a riot!
ReplyDeleteYou're brother is the only one who didn't say you weren't fat. lol. You are thin and look awesome ! Kick him where the sun don't shine!
