A crazy month

Workout:  3 mile tempo run - beautiful, sunny, 70 degrees!!!

I don't even know where to start so I will just jump right in.  We moved to southwest FL.  Matt got a job as assistant principal at Estero High School, and we had 14 days to move 1200 miles.  I must say that brutal winter we were having in the midwest made this quick move A LOT easier!  Ha - but check this out.  Lyla didn't have a pair of boots all winter (I know, I know. I'm a terrible mom for not buying her any).  As we are cleaning out the basement I found 2 pair stashed away in a tote.  Oh my gosh, I was so mad!!!  OK, anyway......

So we moved on a Friday.  Lyla's last day of school was Thursday and we had to say goodbye to the BEST TEACHER EVER!!!  No, seriously.  She is amazing!!  She didn't make me want to get back into teaching, BUT she made me wish I could go back in time and redo the 7 years I did teach.  Not that I didn't love my students, but I didn't love them the way she loves hers.  She emailed me asking if she could throw Lyla a surprise going away party.  Um, of course!!!  She put together this whole great shing ding.  She made a memory book for Lyla that made me cry, and had a nice little ice cream sundae bar for the students - so sweet!

Friday morning we packed the truck.  We packed, and packed, and packed.  We packed that thing so full and still couldn't fit everything.  We had to leave behind a garage full of stuff.  It makes me sick just thinking about it so  I shall move on.

Even the empty space up top was stuffed with pillows!  Trust me - there was no empty space!

By Friday afternoon I was in better spirits.  I made one last stop at Avanti's and shoved my face with pizza bread.
Oh cheesy goodness!  You will be missed!!

And Friday evening I stopped at Panera and registered for my first 5K of the year.  It will be interesting to see how winter hibernation effected these legs! (affected??  effected?? hmmmm)  And finally, it was time for the drive.  And driving we did.  We just kept going, and going, and going....

We made it, we're here, we're settled, and we're happy!  And now I can get back to running outside again.  Until it gets too hot.  Which I swear after that winter seems almost impossible:)

A little mommy rant!

Workout: HIIT download/2mile run Okay moms, I hate being bombarded in every parent's magazine and internet article about all these super star moms.  You know, the moms  that feed their kids organic food, only let their children play educational games, and make their two year old do service projects. You can judge and put your nose up in the air about me, but that is totally okay, because I judge you, too!!!   Seriously, I want to throw my greasy hamburger in their face and tell them to shove it.  My kids are awesome, healthy, happy, and enjoy life.  And I enjoy the things I do being their mom.  It is totally okay to: 1.   let my kids eat McDonald's french fries.  2.   let my children watch cartoons....right smack dab in front of the t.v.  3.  Allow them to drink  a late night polar pop!!  I believe this is Dr. Pepper. 4.  iPad games instead of story time at bed!! I don't care that these things...

Summer Races

Workout:  3 miles easy - 100% humidity and dew point of 76!!  UGH!! Since fall is here in just a few days I thought I should throw my summer races up on the blog while it is still officially summer!!;) I was pumped about my summer races.  I had a good workout plan in my mind, and I was going to break 23 minutes!!  I was so determined!  Well, I thought I was so determined.  But, I guess I wasn't that  determined because things fell apart pretty quick.  There was vacation, and then our cruise, and then traveling up to Illinois.  And although I could have run during all these events, well,  I didn't.  OOPS!! Fisher Fair 5k I ran this race with my brother, and this was his first race in 20 years!!  It was really cool to run it with him, and to see him get back into running.  I actually only ran "with him" for about 7 steps, and then he took off. Mile 1 -7:34  Yeah, way too fast.  I'm actually pretty good a...

Pregnancy, Fitness, and Food

Workout:  None...yet.  But I might later.  Which is what I've been saying everyday for about the past 3 weeks!!! Hey, you all!!!!!  Guess who decided to reappear?!?!  And guess what I've been up to?  Just cooking up a little boy in this belly of mine! So, I'm 30 weeks pregnant, (31 according to the docs, but whatever) and NOTHING has gone as planned.  And when I say NOTHING I am referring to diet and exercise.  First, I had plans of running as long as I could.  My goal was to run to at least 32 - 34 weeks pregnant.  I made it to 6 weeks, folks.    6 WEEKS!!!  Then, the morning sickness hit, and it hit hard!!!!  I was sick all day and all night.  I was so crazy miserable.  And it didn't go away at the end of the first trimester.  It lasted a good 18 weeks!  Once I started feeling better I decided to just work on staying toned.  I was in the gym lifting weights about 3 days a week.  ...
